Bonni S. Jensen is an owner/member attorney with The Law Offices of Perry & Jensen, LLC. She and her business partner, Ann H. Perry, have been in business together since 1991. Ms. Jensen specializes in, and serves as, general counsel to municipal pension funds. For the past consecutive six years, Ms. Jensen has received the prestigious award of Top Pension Attorney in Pension Law which is awarded by the South Florida Legal Guide. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1991, the US District Court in 1991 and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1997. She was a member of her Law Review at Nova Southeastern University where she graduated with honors in 1990. Bonni Jensen has had extensive experience in pension and employee benefits law and related local, state and federal law. She has been a speaker on topics which include DROP plans, fiduciary responsibility, 457 plans, the role of collective bargaining in pension issues, pension plan administration, meeting preparation, Sunshine Law and ethics and financial disclosure laws at the annual State of Florida Police and Firefighter Pension Conferences and Trustee Schools. She has also lectured at many seminars related to pension fund topics, such as controlling disability costs in the public sector; tax issues; pension obligation bonds; securities law; and Guns and Hoses conferences. She regularly participates in the State Division of Retirement conferences and schools for municipal police and firefighter pension funds. Ms. Jensen was an active participant in meetings among pension attorneys and employee groups that led to the most recent changes to Chapter 175 and 185.
